hhPack Leader Hood provides his take of the weekend’s Perdue-McCrory throwdown.

I no longer watch political debates of any kind because they make blood spurt out my nose. But by all accounts McCrory did what you would expect he would do with Perdue — spank her and send her home.

The voucher issue backstory Hood provides is very interesting, however. Recall that last month McCrory’s Web site quietly deleted a “More choices” bullet-point from his education policy page. Hood notes that Perdue’s pre-emptive and premature attack on vouchers during the debate is an echo of a Mike Easley attack on Richard Vinroot back in 2000 on the same issue. Trouble is, aside from the vanished bullet-point, McCrory has not said boo about vouchers or choice.

Now it is clear why the issue went poof — and that the Perdue campaign has not been paying attention.
