Interesting that the Hagan campaign posts this AP profile on its Web site despite some unflattering facts:

In her campaign against Dole, Hagan has pounded away at the mantra that “Washington is broken.” But she’s no novice and has often played politics right out of the Washington playbook, refusing at times to take a hard stand on a hot-button issue while toeing the party line.

Hagan declined to say how she would vote on the $700 billion financial market bailout until it passed the in the Senate. She has been coy about her position on proposed expansions of oil drilling in Alaska and exactly what she seeks in immigration reform.

For months, Hagan has slammed Dole for voting with President Bush 92 percent of the time. But Hagan is just as loyal a Democrat. An Associated Press review showed that through the 1,737 votes cast in the General Assembly over the last two years, Hagan voted opposite of Democratic Senate leader Marc Basnight only 12 times – a rate of 99.3 percent.

Some might say the campaign’s unafraid to present its candidate, warts and all. Others might cynically say they decided to spin the article without reading it.
