Yesterday the Senate voted on an amendment by Sen. Mike Johanns of Nebraska to prohibit the Department of Housing and Urban Development from granting any more money to ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). This follows the release of videos on three consecutive business days that showed ACORN officials in Baltimore, Washington and Brooklyn advising two undercover activists — posing as a pimp and a prostitute — about how to break various laws, including child sex trafficking.

The amendment passed the Senate 83-7. North Carolina’s Kay Hagan voted to support the amendment. Richard Burr did not vote.

Andrew Breitbart, proprietor of the Big Government blog where the videos have been released, told Sean Hannity last night that another will be released today and characterized it as “devastating.” Earlier in the evening Fox News’ Glenn Beck — who obviously has seen the next video — said that he cleared his entire program to focus on today’s release. I’m guessing Big Government is holding back on posting the video until this afternoon, closer to Beck’s 5:00 p.m. airing.
