Sen Kay Hagan has released a resource guide that “breaks down the money allocated to North Carolina by category and program and also includes contact information where interested individuals can receive more information.”

I’ll give the senator credit for breaking the stimulus bill down for her constituents. The only problem is reasonable thinking people (in my opinion) will either cry or get really angry as they read it. Here’s an example:

$250 million was included for the Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems ProInstitute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education….

Description: Makes competitive grants to States to enable them to design and develop statewide longitudinal data systems that use individual student data for reporting and improving student achievement and to facilitate research to improve student achievement and close achievement gaps. With these grants, states could increase the capacity of their data systems, provide
teachers the information they need to tailor instruction to help each student improve, and give administrators the resources and information to effectively and efficiently manage their data systems.

This stimulates the economy…….how?
