After passing the House last night, the Senate takes up the Hair Braiding bill, Sen. Don East R-Alleghany, takes exception to the way the bill has been handled.  East says he couldn?t believe they had ever taken it up, had wasted so much time on it and finally suggested ?the leadership can stick this bill where the sun don?t shine.? (Giving transparency and sunshine in government a different, but interesting perspective) The bill was withdrawn, new conferees were appointed, including Sen. East and the bill sponsor, Sen. Doug Berger, D–Franklin.  We may or may not see this one again.

2:50 pm update: Hair Braiding bill is brought back before the Senate  Conference Committee chair, Sen. Linda Garrou, D- Forsyth, assured members they have ?gotten the kinks straightened out?.  East says; “Let?s vote on the bill. What do you say??
The vote to adopt the conference report is 33-4.
