My daughter went up against Ariana Huffington, Howie Kurtz and Salon’s Joan Walsh on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” yesterday and, if the reviews can be believed, held her own and then some. (I watched it and, of course, thought she acquitted herself marvelously, but, then, I’m her dad). Here’s what Newsbusters had to say:

Kudos go out to Mary Katharine who went up against three liberals by herself, and did quite well.

The video is here.

The issue was mistreatment of women on the Internet via blogs and comments. Interestingly, while Walsh and Huffington were claiming “it happens on both sides” of political ideology, the only example that was put forward by Kurtz was a comment on one of the conservative guest’s YouTube videos. Hmmm.

The New & Observer today ran a New York Times story on efforts to deal with misogyny on the Web. Mary Katharine’s point was that no one cared when much worse was aimed at Michelle Malkin over the past four years, not to mention her own trolls. It is only now, since a blogger who isn’t embarrassed to pose with Bill Clinton has suffered some misogynistic comments, does the liberal side of the blog world want some policing done.
