This won’t get big media play, but an 80-year-old man saved his own life in North Texas when two men busted into his house as he answered his door. But little did they know that the man had put his pistol in his pocket before coming to see who was knocking.
When they started slashing with a knife, the man calmly (he’s a WWII vet and a John Wayne fan) pulled out his pistol and began shooting, hitting one before they fled. The two brothers, one of whom is hospitalized, were arrested and charged with burglary, assault and robbery.
As I’ve said before, if this happened more often there’d be fewer home invasions. That’s just human nature.
