Probably the most extreme of the global warming alarmists–at least with scientific credentials–James Hansen has refused an invitation to debate well known skeptic climatologist Patrick Michaels. Here’s a copy of the letter inviting Hanson to debate Michaels at William and Mary University in Virginia.
Dear Dr. Hansen,
My name is Braum Katz and I am the Director of the William and Mary Society for Academic Freedom and Diversity. The purpose of my organization is to engage the William and Mary campus by bringing in scholars and academics with diverse and divergent points of view.
For this fall, we are hoping to host a debate on global climate change and its implications. Patrick Michaels has agreed to come, and my organization would like you to come and debate Dr. Michaels in Williamsburg. The date is very flexible, and we can tailor the day of the debate completely to your schedule. We will be able to pay for your travel expenses and offer you an honorarium for your time.
