Harvard seems to have chosen Drew Gilpin Faust, a former director of women’s studies, as its next president. What better way to ensure the new president doesn’t upset the feminist lefties on staff like Larry Summers did. The announcement of her appointment doesn’t mention her women’s studies background, but I just KNEW there had to be one.

Sure enough, when I Googled Faust’s name I found this:

Before coming to Radcliffe, Faust was Annenberg Professor of History
and director of the Women’s Studies Program at the University of
Pennsylvania.

For Harvard, which lectures America on things like affirmative action and equal opportunity, Gilpin is its first woman president in its 371-year history. Well, you can’t rush these things, as Orval Faubus once said.
