Insane Winston-Salem Journal editorial calling for Harvey Davis to sell out for “some reasonable amount over appraised value” so the city can take advantage of fed money to build a transportation hub “will serve the greater public good.” The Journal concludes Davis “should realize that, as the delays in this project continue, the city is only strengthening its case for eminent domain.”

If that’s not bad enough, here’s the true insult:

Davis, who’s working with developer Bill Cannon, is no Billy Prim, the entrepreneur who developed the downtown baseball stadium. Davis lacks the experience and vision for such a project, which would cost millions. He and Cannon have yet to make any progress.

Note another comparison to Winston’s neighbor to the east, where “Greensboro, which opened its downtown stadium several years before ours, already has a restored railroad station.” A fine structure, no doubt, that sits empty most of the day.
