Interesting exchanges in the Haywood County commissioner meetings, from The Mountaineer:

After speaking about cuts in the budget that have already been made and how nobody wants to raise taxes, Upton said people expect services and have even moved to the county for services.
At that point, several audience members joined Cure, who was loudly saying “no, no, that’s not true.”
Kirkpatrick interrupted saying, “No, you’re not going to talk out loud.”
“Ms. Cure, I don’t believe I’ve interrupted you. I’ve listened to you,” Upton said.
He then discontinued his explanation, saying he had lost his train of thought.

Later in the meeting, audience member Kenneth Henson joined in as commissioners were questioning Solid Waste Director Stephen King about heavy equipment he wanted approval to lease.
After a minute or so, Kirkpatrick interrupted, telling Henson if he let him speak from the floor, he’d have to let everyone join in.
“You don’t want to save money,” Henson alleged.
“That’s enough, Kenneth,” Kirkpatrick said, saying the commissioners were asking questions about the proposal and did want to make sure they got the best deal.
“No, you don’t,” Henson retorted.
“Shut up,” Kirkpatrick said.
“No, you shut up. I listened to you talk to (Jonnie Cure) like a dog, but you’re not going to talk to me like that,” Henson said.
