Those in the area around Chapel Hill should be more worried about taking in too much liberal particulate matter than breathing in CO2 emissions. Here’s how the air has affected their judgement.

First the Chapel Hill town council votes to impeach the president, knowing full-well that they can do no such thing, and that their voice is but the echo of a fly’s wing in a bell jar.

Then, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen passed a resolution stating that local police officers shouldn’t detain immigrants who are on the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency’s “immigration detainer” list if these illegals are caught for traffic violations.

And just today, Carrboro’s leaders want legal, permanent residents (not citizens) to have the right to vote. Here’s what Alderman Dan Coleman had to say about the board’s decision:

We view our request as one of granting voting rights to those who already exercise ‘citizenship’ in the broad sense, those who work in Carrboro, pay taxes and participate in local affairs and the public school system. Some are veterans of our armed services.

Well, in a ‘broad sense’ I’d say you’ve been huffing a little too much of those “liberal emissions.”*

*No comments from Jon Sanders on that phrase. I’ve added the quotations to give every reader the liberty to make up their own witty joke.

Update: Indirectly, Joe had this to say about what might make up a “liberal emission.”
