It’s tax burden time again. The John Locke Foundation this week printed rankings of cities across the state. Asheville’s per-capita taxation rose from seventh to sixth in its population class. In fact, all munies evaluated in Buncombe County have very high rankings in their respective classes. Woodfin had the lowest rank of 24. Some classes had as many as 185 contenders. Buncombe ranked 25th among the state’s 100 counties. 2013 data was used, as more current numbers, as they say, are not in, yet.
