John Locke Foundation analysts continued to lend their expertise to the health-care debate this week, as President Obama stepped up his campaign to win support for a larger government role in the health-care sector. Policy Analyst and Research Editor Jon Sanders rejoined the Americans For Prosperity North Carolina “Hands Off My Health Care” bus tour for a seven-city swing through the state. Among the media outlets covering the tour was the Richmond County Daily Journal, which quoted Sanders. WNCN Television also noted JLF involvement in the bus tour. In addition, Sanders discussed health-care issues with Chuck Campbell’s cable-access television show Thursday in Raleigh. Fiscal and Health Care Policy Analyst Joseph Coletti joined Sanders and AFP for a town hall-style meeting that drew more than 1,000 people to the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. Meanwhile, JLF President John Hood discussed health-care developments in posts for National Review Online’s primary blog, “The Corner,” including commentary during Obama’s address to a joint session of Congress. N.C. Senate Republicans also highlighted this week a Daily Journal column from Hood criticizing political antagonists who resort to name-calling instead of reasoned arguments.
