If government only served to reduce vice and crime, then Sylva would have it made. The Sylva Herald laments the following revenue shortfalls:

  • $50,000 in ABC store sales
  • $10,000 in alcohol sales
  • $25,000 in video gaming fees
  • $7200 in police fines and fees
  • $1200 in parking fees. [ED NOTE: Parking is not registered as one of the seven deadly – yet.]

But since people aren’t sinning, the government must suffer. On the bright side, the town may put beautification projects and monument building on hold.
