The poor federal government is having credit problems. The fights between Democrats and Republicans stressed out by the financial troubles are tearing this country apart. But, a project we can all agree is a good use of spending debt involves increasing impervious surfaces in wildlands, bringing civilization to people seeking nature, and erecting signs (not the kind that block up the scenery and break your mind, but the interpretive kind). The Blue Ridge Parkway just received a National Scenic Byways Grant in the amount of $261,336 to do just that.
