The Panthers have fired offensive coordinator Dan Henning, offensive line coach Mike Maser, and DB coach Rod Perry. WR Keyshawn Johnson had suggested that he would look to play elsewhere if Henning was cut loose; guess now we will find out.
Firings are never good news, but this move at least shows that John Fox understands that his team way underperformed with an 8-8 mark this year. Plus it was absolutely required that the defensive side of the ball share some of the blame — particularly for loosing so many late leads against crap offenses.
No word on replacements — yet. Stay tuned.
Update: Has one of those insta-poll things up, and unless the extended Dan Henning family gets involved, this is going to be a big rout in favor of letting Dan-O go.
