Last week we told you about ominous bills being considered by the General Assembly that would shield some information, including preliminary reports, from public scrutiny. But this week there was better news on the general subject when the state Supreme Court ruled that public agencies cannot sue citizens who push for access to meetings and records. Carolina Journal and the ACLU had filed friend-of-the-court briefs in the case involving the City of Burlington and The Alamance News.
