What Would the Founders Think? is a new blog that discusses “Today’s politicos vs the words and deeds of the Founders.”  Written by two former associates of mine in Arizona, it provides full explanation and commentary on each of the Federalist Papers. See their discussion of Hamilton’s Federalist #7 here

In addition, the bloggers offer reviews of the latest books about the Founders and the founding era. Here is their review of Ron Chernow’s new biography: Washington: A Life.

This is the “About” listing for the blog:

This blog is about what we see happening to the US Constitution and
our honest attempt to compare and contrast its precepts with what is
happening today.

We, the authors don?t purport to know everything about the history
of the United States.  We don?t claim to be Constitutional scholars or
even lawyers.  We are simply concerned citizens who believe that the
United States is ?the last best hope of mankind?.  We contend that this
country is unique and founded on core principles which have yielded the
blessings we enjoy today.

We humbly submit that the founders possessed far greater integrity,
far greater intellect, and understood the world more than anybody we
can think of in politics today.  They had phenomenal foresight in
constructing a system which has stood the test of time.  Its ideas are,
if possible, more relevant today than when they were first penned.
