George Leef has done more than bask in the accolades for his report on higher education. He’s started to reformat his message, and it’s worked. George has a piece in the Christian Science Monitor, which generated praise from Carter Wood at the National Association of Manufacturers and ASNET, a free, moderated email list, which is a project of the National Association of Scholars (nas.org) and the California Association of Scholars (calscholars.org). And even Jon Sanders did some service to George’s work, crafting an ingenious article for FrontPage Magazine, online. All this notoriety is starting to add up. Even News14 contacted George on his opinion of low graduation rates across the state’s universities. Where’s the media been? George has been on higher ed’s case for years! Not only is higher education oversold, it’s also over funded. With U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings’s announcement that America’s colleges and universities need more government intervention, we’re sure to see an even greater amount of money pumped into the misguided system.
