The Nazis looted 22 million works of art during World War II — including great masterpieces of European painting, sculpture, literature, and music. That’s according to author Thomas Thibeault,whose historical novel Balto’s Nose focuses on American efforts to recover the looted treasures.

In a presentation today to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society, Thibeault discussed the recovery efforts of a small group known as Monuments Men. In the video clip below, he discusses one great discovery.
