J.J. Henderson Senior Towers was the scene of another fire yesterday, the second one this year. No one was serioiusly injured in Tuesday’s fire, but a resident died in the one on March 9. The complex, completed in 1978, does not have a sprinkler system and DHA spokesmen say the authority can’t afford the $2 million it would take to install one.

How about this for an idea. J.J. Henderson, the former DHA commissioner after whom the project was named, was a relative of David Letterman’s stage manager, Biff Henderson. I think it may have been his father, but I can’t remember for sure. Why doesn’t someone from the DHA ask Biff to hit Letterman up for the 2 mil. He can certainly afford it.
