Hot rumor is that US Airways is starting CLT-Honolulu flights in November. Service would be seasonal, using a 767s freed up by suspending flights from Philly to Milan, Zurich, and Brussels (that part is confirmed) for the “winter.”

CLT – HNL has supposedly been loaded into OAG so the press release should be out soon.

Update: Flights are:

US 807, leaves CLT 9:45am, arrives HNL 3:13pm, flight time: 10 hours, 28 minutes
US 808, leaves HNL 5:45pm, arrives CLT 7:37am (the next day), flight time: 8 hours, 52 minutes

Flights look to begin December 17 and operate through at least May. But that is subject to change and depends upon what they do with flights to Europe next summer.

Update II: Uptown paper of record gets the news, three days later.
