Both the Charlotte Observer and Wilmington Star-News published this week a column from John Hood and the N.C. Coastal Federation’s Todd Miller urging legislators to resist proposals for bailing out beach mansion owners. The News & Observer interviewed Hood about the future of the Golden LEAF, while the Daily Tar Heel sought his input about Elon Poll results. The N.C. Senate Republicans’ daily press e-mail highlighted two of Hood’s columns. One explained that North Carolina cannot act as an island or castle in setting public policy, while the other discussed potential scenarios for the 2012 gubernatorial election. Hood also continued his contributions this week to National Review Online’s primary blog, “The Corner.” RealClearPolitics.com named an earlier Hood blog entry on the 2012 Republican presidential contest as a recommended article.
