The News & Observer turned to John Locke Foundation President John Hood within the past week to help answer the question of whether North Carolina is still a “Dixie Dynamo” economically. As Hood explains in the new book Our Best Foot Forward, the answer is no. The Charlotte Observer also interviewed Hood for a story about a proposal for the Queen City to buy Eastland Mall.
Hood’s latest appearance on News 14 Carolina’s “Capital Tonight” featured a discussion of top political news, including President Obama’s “you didn’t build that” gaffe and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s selection of a running mate. N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press email Hood’s column on the wide divergence in state business rankings.
