Radio listeners throughout the Curtis Media Network have a chance again this weekend to hear John Locke Foundation President John Hood discuss the top political and policy issues of the day. Hood appears with Don Curtis on the latest edition of “Carolina Newsmakers.” Hood’s analysis attracted statewide attention earlier this week when the Associated Press quoted him for an article about legislative retirements. Television stations WRAL, WTVD, and WNCN picked up the story, as did the Charlotte Observer, News & Observer, Winston-Salem Journal, Wilmington Star-News, Asheville Citizen-Times, Greenville Daily Reflector, Rocky Mount Telegram, and Elizabeth City Daily Advance.  The Elizabeth City newspaper also published a recent piece from syndicated columnist Scott Mooneyham, which leads off with a description of Hood’s prescription for the future of public education. The Fayetteville Observer quoted Hood’s assessment of electoral redistricting this week in an article about the 2012 elections. N.C. Senate Republicans promoted in their daily press emails this week Hood’s columns on the real state budget, tax fairness, and North Carolina’s jobs picture.
