The N.C. Metropolitan Mayors Coalition promoted this week John Locke Foundation President John Hood‘s column on government’s abuse of power, specifically in the areas of forced sterilization and eminent domain takings. The FederalEminentDomain.com blog cited the same column. Hood’s writing generated recent letters in both the Burlington Times-News and Greensboro News & Record. (As John Hood of the Carolina Journal so wisely said: “North Carolina has used a blunderbuss approach, testing millions of cars that are highly unlikely ever to fail. These tests jack up the price of annual safety inspections, creating some business for garages and testing sites. But they don’t provide much of a boost to air quality.”) N.C. Senate Republicans highlighted in their daily press email Hood’s columns on three models for tax reform, the “magic words” associated with ObamaCare, and government abuse of power.
