I’ve always been mystified by the way guys can get kicked off the Greensboro City Council only to end up in the General Assembly. Earl Jones was one of those guys, but he won’t be in the House much longer. Jones loses the District 60 primary to challenger Marcus Brandon.

It’s always good to see fresh faces, even on the other side. But the fact that Brandon worked for Dennis Kucinich speaks volumes, and his campaign was based on “bringing a light-rail transportation system” to the Triad and “creating a “green-jobs corridor.” Sigh —- although his view that education should be more decentralized is encouraging.
