Asheville Vice Mayor Esther Manheimer expressed a sense of helplessness to the local daily over stopping the General Assembly. Representative Tim Moffitt, in his short term of service thus far, has proposed bills to create regional authorities to run the city’s water system and airport. Both measures would involve the “transfer of assets” from the city. Saith Manheimer:
But, of course there’s the requirement that the transfer happen without compensation, which some would call stealing.
I am still not seeing the justification, other than money makes right.
