The spending figures being discussed in the NC House, adjusted for inflation and population, are comparable to those in the mid-1990s. We didn’t have iPhones or Nintendo Wii systems, but really, how bad were the 1990s for the average North Carolinian?
It’s not like taxpayers have gotten a great return on their investment in government this decade. Maybe it’s time to let taxpayers reinvest those dollars on their own in more productive activities.
