Oh, city of Charlotte brainiacs will convince themselves that giving away millions of dollars will make a difference, city council will rubber-stamp such, and 10 years from now we’ll still be wondering what the hell happened.

The idea of 340 more “housing units” with a starting price-point of $150K is completely nuts given the huge number of $125K and lower units already ringing Eastland Mall. Worse, years of pipe-stem development has contravened the city’s official “connectivity” mantra, isolating neighborhoods and feeding traffic onto already clogged arteries. Fix that or stop yapping about “boosting” East Charlotte.
