The Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is spewing spittle over the notion that CVS might open mini medical clinics in its “big box” branches. He’s afraid that profit will denigrate the health care of Bostonians:

“Limited service medical clinics run by merchants in for-profit corporations will seriously compromise quality of care and hygiene. Allowing retailers to make money off of sick people is wrong.”

Conservatives have long claimed that what liberals really want is to make people dependent on government. That comment pretty much confirms that. Not content to let a free market try something new that might help people, might be more convenient than what we have now, and might end up being cheaper, he fumes about loss of government control.

As Bryan at Hot Air pointed out:

Does Mayor Menino not realize that most private medical practices are for-profit operations?

No, apparently not. His mind is already where Hillary wants us all: Thinking that anything having to do with medicine should be provided by the nanny state.
