President Obama in his weekly radio address today said, “Reform has actually added at least a dozen years to the solvency of Medicare ? the single longest extension in history ? while helping to preserve Medicare for generations to come.”

The claim itself is based on questionable assumptions, like a sharp fall in Medicare payments to doctors (see below), but even then it Medicare payments overtake receipts by 2029, not exactly reassuring for the recent college graduates new to their jobs or still looking for work.
