The nexus between black males and basketball, which Gumbel, Lauer and Obama seem to think is extremely important, is the hook here. All give a nod to the notion that basketball, in some mystical way, helps black men “learn who they are.”
Will the mainstream media next report that Obama’s “got rhythm” as well as game? Oh, wait. That’s already happened, with Obama ramping it up by making a “white people can’t dance” remark aimed at Rudy Giuliani.
