Professor Steven Horwitz offers some excellent thoughts in his Freeman column today.
One particularly important point he makes is that we must not treat the status quo ante as if it were a “free market system” because it was nowhere near that. Obamacare makes a bad, interventionist system much worse, by magnifying its faults of relying on third party payments for a host of medical expenditures that ought to be paid for the same way we pay for computers and oil changes and home repairs.
