Two council members, Mike Pugh and Bill Bencini, voted against the request:

Pugh lamented that senior citizens must struggle with paying for their medicine and utility bills while “we con­tinue to give money away to multi-mil­lion- dollar corporations.”

Bencini said specific information and projections provided the City Council on Monday was insufficient. “I’m disappoint­ed at the level of staff analysis that has been provided to us tonight,” he said.

Now TransTech must decide if they’ll stay or if they’ll go.
