What makes each of you the better choice?

Shuler: It is important to examine one’s voting record and see how bridges were built between parties. It is important to have an independent voice, and strong leadership is needed. It will be hard to go back and make tough decisions that can’t be made on political lines, but must be based on people. We can’t continue to sit back and watch China grow. Pressure must be removed from small businesses with lowered taxes. This must be done in a bipartisan way. I can work in that manner. Right and wrong is more important than right and wrong.

Miller: I truly represent WNC. I was not recruited. We went through the party on our own. The national party put us on their radar about six weeks ago. We were about $15,000 in debt when we entered th election. We’ve done over 70 events and a lot of town halls. You have to do open town halls and take tough questions. You need a relationship in order to be able to represent. 92% of our funds were raised locally. We disagree on healthcare, card check, and free trade. I have a history of service with which nobody can argue. I love giving back. This is an opportunity to serve, not a career.
