The Department of Housing and Urban Development will send $1.4 million to the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem to help make up for a budget shortfall.
The total shortfall is is $2.8 million, however, but HUD has encouraged HAWS to apply for a another $1 million. Note that both Sens. Richard Burr and Kay Hagan encouraged HUD to work with HAWS, as did Reps. Mel Watt and the ‘fearmongering’ Virginia Foxx.
