Every now and then it’s possible to find something amusing while waiting for the start of the UNC Board of Governors meetings. Today in Greenville, the humor was provided by North Carolina State Chancellor James Oblinger.
Oblinger came to the BOG meetings decked in a dark red jacket similar to those worn by N.C. State basketball coach Sidney Lowe. However, Oblinger also wore a UNC tie to pay his end of a bet with UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser.
Oblinger made light of the suit and tie to those whom he encountered saying, “This tie is so obnoxious that I had to offset it with something subtle.”
