The truth hurts. And it hurts especially hard when college students are confronted with graphic images of aborted babies. Sadly, some of these students are all for free speech until the campus exhibit advocates a position they oppose — in this case, rights for unborn babies.

The reaction among UNC students was overwhelmingly negative. Many questioned the display’s effectiveness in sparking dialogue.

First-year Jaime Willett said she thought the demonstration failed to address the “gray area” of the issue.

“I believe in free speech and all of that, but I feel like this is all ill-informed propaganda,” she said.

Members of abortion-rights groups also appeared at the exhibition, handing out information and speaking to students walking by.
