I have a confession to make. Back when my daughter was in high school and college I purchased her health insurance in the individual market. I have now discovered, after hearing the words of our leader, that that policy, purchased from a “bad apple insurer,” was “substandard.” At the time I thought it was perfectly fine and that it met the needs of both my daughter and my family. But now I realize that since the policy would not have qualified under Obamacare that I probably was actually engaging in child abuse. So I want to take this opportunity to apologize to my daughter, to my wife, to our president and to society in general for not having a true understanding of what constitutes a good and socially responsible health insurance plan. Even though I made this purchase before our current leader became president I now know that I should have consulted with him or someone else who cared more about my family than I do before making such an important decision.
