Here is another example of a great way to grow government. We all know how poor and streamlined Buncombe County government is. That is why it has some change burning a hole in its pocket. The county has spent money on everything it has presumably considered, so now it wants the public to help come up with ideas on how to use it. If you would like to have some of this gummint money, you may apply for a Community Recreation Grant.
The Community Recreation Grants program’s focus this year is to provide funding to qualified organizations within Buncombe County to promote recreational fitness, health and wellness initiatives as well as community-based activities and capital improvements that increase recreational opportunities for the communities served.
And that’s what I call focus.
