The quote of the day at the Kevin Geddings trial had to be the following comment from Senate Majority Leader Tony Rand, D-Cumberland:

Basically, what I do is talk. It’s hard to remember all the talking I do and that others do.

Rand testified that he had a hard time remembering specifics about his discussions with Geddings in May 2005, during a session billed as “lottery prep.” Rand, Geddings, former Jim Black political aide Meredith Norris, and possibly one other person met to discuss a forum or debate about lottery pros and cons.

Rand also had a hard time remembering his debate opponent later that evening at a forum in Fayetteville. After describing him as a tall, skinny guy on N.C. Spin, a little prodding revealed Rand was talking about Chris Fitzsimon of N.C. Policy Watch.
