A friend emailed me about this story. He called it “an archetypal Dur’m story” and added this comment:

Woman gets her home remodeled on the taxpayer’s dime, then claims she’s a “victim” when her behavior disrupts the project.

So, she had a mold problem from a leaky air conditioner and expected
the local government to pay for repairing it. Does anyone see a problem
with this? I just had $4,000 in repairs to a sewer line in my front
yard and I didn’t see anyone from the county coming to my aid. Where’s
my grant, Ellen Reckhow?
