It is expected the Henderson County Commissioners are more than toying with the idea of a 1.4-cent tax cut.

[County Manager Steve] Wyatt pointed to a chart showing that the county had built up a large fund balance without raising taxes while the national government had piled up debt of $20 trillion.
“This is a bigger threat than Al-Qaeda but we can’t do anything about it, I guess,” Wyatt said. “This is a disgrace. If somebody wants to make a motion to label it a disgrace, you’re welcome.”
