When Harry Reid lied about Rush Limbaugh’s “phony soldier” comment and then got 40 of his Democratic colleagues to sign a letter condemning the talk-show host and trying to get him fired, you couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting an MSM reporter going postal on that story.

But when Limbaugh puts the letter on the Internet auction site eBay, pointing out the historic nature of the U.S. Congress condemning a private citizen for his views, there’s not a whisper in the MSM. That he is going to give the proceeds to a Marine Corps charity, and match whatever the highest bid, also is not considered newsworthy.

The bid for the letter is now at more than $800,000 and still no MSM peep. If his original comments were news, and if the Democrats’ letter was news, why isn’t the auction news? I guess we laymen just don’t understand what’s news.

UPDATE: The bid is now over $2 million, which means that Marine Corps charity is going to get at least $4 million. What a Christmas present.
