Skip Sinanian, owner of Boone Saloon, is being too literal. A new noise ordinance requires him to purchase a $1000 permit because he hosts live bands. He attempted to apply for a permit, but the county has not established a means for citizens to obtain one, yet. The new permits don’t even exist. The new rules, nevertheless, apply. Once Sinanian gets a permit, he may have live music, but his business and he personally could still be fined if an officer thinks too much noise is coming out of his establishment. The decibel threshold set in the former ordinance has been eliminated.
