As I blogged last week, the state is deciding which hospitals and medical facilities are allowed to expand their services in North Carolina. The power stems from the outdated regulation/rule known as Certificate of Need. Right now, multiple organizations want to offer more services in Wake County and they’re being thwarted by the state.
