Today in John Hood’s Daily Journal,
he talks about the atmosphere in Cullowhee USA.  I have to say
that partisan politics is somewhat different in the Mountains because
the College Democrats and College Republicans actually get along with
one another, even after having heated debates then they all go out and
eat after its all said and done and be like brothers and sisters.
Even among the Political Science majors, there was a Facebook
group created for Super-Cool Political Science Majors (Partisanship or
political philosophy doesn?t matter to join).   I know for
some seeing the tension on the bigger campuses between certain groups
it can be depressing, but in Cullowhee professors
in the Political Science Department are known for saying “We can always
agree to disagree.”  Maybe it?s the air in Cullowhee that makes
the world go round up there?  I think its because we can all do
lunch at the Cullowhee Cafe (a Diner with greasy food and country
cooking).
