The Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction has been threatened and his car vandalized after he dared to challenge the teachers union and pursue, among things, merit pay. True to form, the teachers union opposes reform that includes compensation based on results and effectiveness in the classroom.

At this point, there’s no word on the source of the threats and vandalism so it would be unfair to automatically tag a union member as the culprit. I’ll follow the story to see if police make any arrests.
